Anyone catch the first episode of season 2 of Ice Road Truckers? This time they are driving over frozen sea water across a bay hauling stuff for natural gas sites. Also anyone else think that guy Drew is an idiot?

I watched it. I think there nuts for driving across the Artic Ocean. Drew I think he's only back so they could add a little drama to the show. But yes he is a big idiot. Goes that far north knowing very well what the weather is going to be like and doesn't bring a jacket. I can't wait to see what he wrecks this year. I like what the old plow driver said when they were making the road. Have a good truck with a radio and turn radio up so you don't hear the ice cracking - forget that I don't think I have a set big enough to do that job. BTW anyone notice there were no safety patrol vehiclesw out on this ice road?

No, don't want no parts of that. Bad enough driving in the Artic cold, it is equivilant to the winter of 2000 I had in Korea. I'm happy driving my truck through the spaghetti bowl roads of Houston.

Seems to me being that it is more dangerous than the lakes that they would. Also yeah you would think that if you are going to go that far north, that far from home, to a place you have never been before, that you would research what you need to bring with you to be prepared. I think the guy didnt give him a load because he wasnt impressed with him. I think he only hired him because of the Discovery channel.

I watched it and have to go along with everyone else that Drew is a first class idiot. Wonder what the history Channel pays him to go up there, cause he sure don't make any money driving. Of course I also think that Rick is a couple of sandwichs short of a picnic to. Get a mohawk haircut and than dye it blue to go up to the artic. Also noticed that they had no safty patrol out. Might be because there allowed to run faster on this road, and its only a 115 mile trip. Also once they get on the ice there on it for the whole trip. Also if you notice there is not as many trucks. We'll have to wait to see what the rest of the season brings but you can bet that Drew is going to screw something up and maybe this year Hugh will pop him one. :DJeff

I got a kick out of Rick and his new hat. It's only his second season (correct me if I'm wrong) on the ice and gives himself the nickname "Ice Road Rick".... should have started the name with a "D". Anyway, the first show was "ok" at best. I liked the line Drew "Dewey" said right at the end of the show. And now I can't remember it exactly! Was it "I hope I didn't make a mistake" or something to that effect. His wife added a zinger too by reminding him how far north of the Artic Circle he is. Could anyone detect the tone in her voice that she wanted to call him a dumb _ _ _?!

Who saw this past Sundays episode. Rick punches a hole in the oil pan of his dripdroit, basicly call the mechanic a liar because it can't be patched. I wanted to crack him one. Then drew quits his job because the boss didn't give him work the first day and now he's driving fork lift.

Someone is supposed to get hurt real bad possibly next episode. My money is on Drew or Rick, but primarily Drew. You guys notice sometimes the trucks hauling the loads arent the trucks they are driving? They show Hugh driving a flat top T800 with a certain load, then they show that load being hauled by a W900 Areocab Areodyne and its supposed to be Hugh. Then they show the load on the T800 again. Rick they show him sometimes in a day cab, and then in his Western Star with the sleeper and back, all on the same trip. I dunno. Somethings not right.

And you would think that if they could patch the pan effectively they would to get the truck back on the road. Rick is an idiot too.

Actually I think it is going to be Alex that gets hurt or in an accident because during the previews you can hear Alex calling mayday, mayday but they don,t show anything. You just hear him in the sound clip. I have caught the different trucks also. At first I thought it was my mind playing games but then it happened a couple of more times. I also noticed more so in this last episode.
